DraftFix: Players who sought to improve on their combine workouts

With the help of mockdraftable.com, we've been reviewing the pro day measurables from some of the draft prospects who were not invited to the combine. Today, we'll close with a look at some players who were at the combine, but sought to improve their workout numbers at their pro day:

Chris Campbell CB Penn State

Campbell responded well to moving into a full time starter role for the first time in 2017. Much like his teammates Saquon Barkley and Mike Gesicki, Campbell put up some good workout numbers, improving his combine measurables from this:

...to this at his pro day:

Orlando Brown OT Oklahoma

Brown drew a ton of attention at the combine when the supposed potential top five pick posted a woeful set of workout numbers:

However, the narrative goes that he dramatically improved on his numbers at his pro day. Did he though?

Doesn't look like it:

Nyheim Hines RB NC State

Being an undersized back, Hines needed to prove his athletic ability at the combine and didn't really achieve that:

However, he did a much better job at his pro day and should be seen as a good mid-round scatback prospect:

Tim Settle DT Virginia Tech

At 330 pounds, the impressive Settle's workout numbers were a little underwhelming:

However, his pro day workout was an improvement and he solidified his status as potentially the second best nose tackle prospect in this year's class:

Dylan Cantrell WR Texas Tech

Cantrell was one of the standouts at the combine with an outstanding set of numbers:

However, he also did a full workout at his pro day and his numbers there were even better. It will be interesting to see how early he draws interest:

He's not just raw athletic ability though. Check out this one-handed catch:

Nick Nelson CB Wisconsin

Reports suggested that Nelson had posted some excellent pro day numbers, but actually the numbers that leaked out were a lot less impressive than the official numbers that were released, so he probably hasn't done much to boost his stock:

Bilal Nichols DT Delaware

Nichols is a player the Jets have shown some interest in and he served notice of his rising stock with a tremendous set of pro day numbers:

Check out his ability to cope with a double team here:

Chris Covington LB Indiana

Covington posted a consistently good set of numbers in his pro day workout. After posting career highs in tackles (85) and sacks (three) in 2017, Covington has a chance to be a late round pick, although his role at the NFL level is uncertain:

Ogbo Okoronkwo EDGE Oklahoma

Okoronkwo made early headlines at the combine with a slow 40-time but immediately bounced back with a better time on his second run and his numbers overall were not bad:

However, he further improved his cache of numbers at his pro day with excellent agility numbers, re-establishing himself as one of the top pass rushing prospects:

Okoronkwo isn't all about speed off the edge. He has some moves:

In a few days we'll review some players who sought to improve upon their combine numbers.
