Countdown to the draft: 1 day to go
The 2022 draft is almost here and we're counting down the days...
With the 1st pick
The Jets have made the first pick just twice in their history, selecting Joe Namath in 1965 and Keyshawn Johnson in 1996. Both won Super Bowls, albeit that Johnson won his in Tampa Bay.
One year ago
So far, there's a lot to like about the last draft. Elijah Moore, Alijah Vera-Tucker and Ace Carter look like keepers and Deuce Carter, Jason Pinnock and Brandin Echols have also shown promise.
The jury is still out on Zach Wilson, Jonathan Marshall and the linebackers, though. Ultimately, it will be Wilson's success or otherwise that dictates how this draft is viewed.
In the 1st round
The Jets have had a mixture of successes and failures in the first round but this is where they acquired franchise greats such as Namath, Aaron Glenn, Shaun Ellis and Nick Mangold. Hopefully they will add to that list tomorrow.
Number 1s in the draft
Herm Edwards' Jets reprehensibly used a second round pick on Mike Nugent in 2005. He has had a long and pretty successful career but was pretty nondescript as a Jet.
