As we look ahead to training camp in late July, we're taking a daily retrospective look back at some random people, moments and games from Jets history...
The Current 46
Linebacker Neville Hewitt was a solid addition, giving the Jets someone else with plenty of starting experience to compete for a reserve role. It speaks to the Jets' improved depth that Hewitt isn't even a lock to make the roster.
The Greatest
Cornerback Bill Baird is another of the Jets' Super Bowl heroes and their all-time interceptions leader. He also played safety and halfback, as well as returning punts during his seven year career, all of which was spent with the Jets.
Baird had eight of his 34 career interceptions in 1964, including this one for a touchdown:

The 1979 Jets had a 46-31 loss to the Bills. On a lighter note, the Titans of New York had a remarkable 46-45 win over the Broncos in 1962. They overcame a 13-point deficit as Johnny Green threw late touchdowns to Dick Christy and Art Powell.
46 on the statsheet
46 was also the total number of sacks Calvin Pace recorded in his eight years as a Jet.
