Countdown to Camp: 31

As we look ahead to training camp in late July, we're taking a daily retrospective look back at some random people, moments and games from Jets history...

The Current 31

Derrick Jones was another late round pick with athletic potential who might find himself pushed aside by the numerous defensive additions made this offseason. He showed some flashes on special teams during the season and made a few plays in camp and preseason on defense, but seems like a long-shot to make the roster unless there are injuries.

The Greatest

Cornerback Aaron Glenn was a Jet for eight years, recording 24 interceptions. He became the first Jet in a decade to be named to a pro bowl in consecutive seasons in the late nineties. Glenn also had return abilities, as he scored five touchdowns as a Jet.

Here he is making a play on defense:

In 1987, the Jets started off 2-0 but then the players went on strike, killing their momentum. They struggled down the stretch to end up 6-9. We detailed that earlier in our countdown, here.

31 on the scoreboard

The Jets scored 31 against the Browns in consecutive seasons, beating them 31-10 in the 2015 season opener and 31-28 in 2016.
