Countdown to Camp: 26
As we look ahead to training camp in late July, we're taking a daily retrospective look back at some random people, moments and games from Jets history...
The Current 26
Marcus Maye had a nice rookie season, establishing himself and Jamal Adams as one of the most promising young safety tandems in the NFL. Hopefully this breaks a string of disappointing second round picks by the Jets.
The Greatest
Erik Coleman was only a fifth round pick but jumped straight into the starting line-up with four interceptions and two sacks as a rookie. He was a four year starter with the Jets.

The other 26's
Donald Dykes, Dawan Landry, Jerome Henderson...
The 1992 season is remembered for Dennis Byrd's tragic injury and Browning Nagle's ill-fated spell as the starter. The Jets ended up 4-12. We detailed that earlier in our countdown, here.
26-yard touchdown
Here's Dwight Lowery's game-sealing pick-six against Brett Favre's 2010 Vikings on Monday Night Football while also wearing the #26 jersey:
26 on the scoreboard
Three memorable overtime wins from team history have seen the Jets win 26-20. Eric Decker, Santonio Holmes and Emerson Boozer scored the winning touchdowns as the Jets beat the 2015 Giants, 2010 Browns and 1974 Giants.
Let us know if there's any connections to 26 that we missed...
