Camp Recap: Day Six - 8/2/2018
The Jets were on the field today for their fifth practice. Here were some of the things that happened based on reports from those on site:
- Quincy Enunwa and Jordan Leggett missed practice again as Enunwa was apparently wearing a wrap on his hand. It will be interesting to see if they play in the Green/White scrimmage on Saturday. If you recall, that's where Enunwa suffered his season-ending injury a year ago;
- Xavier Cooper was back in pads but Kevin Pierre-Louis, Thomas Rawls and Deon Simon (who injured his leg yesterday) did not practice. Kacy Rodgers II also remains out;
- Practice was moved inside halfway through due to a lightning alert;
- Right guard Brian Winters was back in with the first unit;
- Sam Darnold made progress with some good success in red zone and goal line drills as he rushed for two scores and threw touchdown passes to Dimitri Flowers and Clive Walford and had another to Trenton Cannon called back due to a penalty. He had also impressed with a long pass down the seam to Jermaine Kearse earlier on;
- Cannon continued to impress at running back and George Atkinson also made some good plays with Rawls out;
- Terrelle Pryor and Marcus Maye took part in team drills again, with Maye not wearing a red no-contact jersey this time;
- Mike Pennel got some first team reps at nose tackle;
- Teddy Bridgewater got some first team reps at quarterback again but it was Darnold's day; and
- Dylan Donahue addressed the media about the situation with his DWI, telling them he has stopped drinking alcohol since that incident.
