Camp Recap: Day 11

The Jets were on the field today for their eighth practice. Here were some of the things that happened based on reports from those on site:

Quincy Enunwa, Kevin Pierre-Louis, Parry Nickerson, Thomas Rawls, Deon Simon, Jeremy Clark, Steve McLendon, Kevin Beachum, Quincy Enunwa, Jordan Leggett, Kacy Rodgers II and David Bass missed practice;
Trenton Cannon - who twisted an ankle yesterday - returned and did not appear to be limited as he had a big run again in team periods;
Sam Darnold struggled early, throwing a pick-six to JJ Wilcox as he overthrew his man on a downfield throw before settling down and making some nice throws later on;
Nathan Shepherd, Neville Hewitt, Brandon Bryant and Doug Middleton were among those making plays on defense;
Jamal Adams dropped an interception, this time on a Josh McCown pass in red zone drills;
In the same drills, Teddy Bridgewater connected with Robby Anderson on a fade route for a score with Anderson beating Trumaine Johnson and making a one-handed catch on the run;
Darnold did well too, with touchdowns to Charles Johnson, Eric Tomlinson and Pryor, the latter on another one-handed catch over Derrick Jones;
In the team period towards the end of practice, Darron Lee, Frankie Luvu and Henry Anderson recorded sacks on the first two drives;
Darnold was intercepted by Wilcox again on the next drive, this time as he badly underthrew an open Anderson down the field but he bounced back with a couple of good throws;
Brent Qvale was once again starting at left tackle with Beachum out;
Middleton forced Isaiah Crowell to fumble as the team went back to red zone work, with Henry Anderson recovering and Crowell shaken up on the play with an arm injury, although he did return to the field;
McCown found Tre McBride for a touchdown in red zone work as McBride beat Avery Williamson over the middle;
George Atkinson had a short touchdown run in red zone drills with Bridgewater at the helm;
Darnold also got the team in the end zone, overcoming a Lorenzo Mauldin sack to throw a fourth-down touchdown to Chris Herndon. That was his fourth red zone touchdown pass of the day;
A Jordan Jenkins sack prevented Darnold from adding to his tally as they closed the second red zone session by putting him out there with the first string offense against the starting defense;
As the team ran some drives from the 30 to end practice, Bridgewater threw his first interception in team periods of camp when Terrence Brooks jumped a route on his first play;
Darnold looked shaky on his first unsuccessful drive as he was almost picked off a couple of times;
Bridgewater had a pass dropped by Anderson on his next drive but then hit Anderson on a deep throw down to the 10. However, the drive stalled and he was intercepted again, this time by Darryl Roberts on a fourth down jump ball; and
Darnold finished practice with a touchdown to ArDarius Stewart as they gave him a chance at the 4th-and-2 that Bridgewater failed to convert.
