Buzz: Kevin Mawae to miss out on Hall of Fame again?
There was some hope that former Jets center Kevin Mawae would find out tonight that he was going to be inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2018. However, it looks like there isn't room for him this year:
Does not sound like any offensive linemen made the Hall of Fame this year

Mawae not being included is not a major surprise because this is year has a deep group of candidates, including some high profile newcomers such as Ray Lewis. However for no offensive linemen at all to make the list is extremely surprising. Other candidates included former Jet Alan Faneca as well as Tony Boselli, Steve Hutchinson and Jim Jacoby.
For Jacoby this was his last chance to go in as a modern-era player and now he'll have to rely on being selected by the seniors committee in a future year, joining a list of candidates that includes the perennially snubbed Joe Klecko. However, Mawae should get a few more chances and figures to be a strong candidate next year or the year after.
