Buzz: Jets work out CFL's Tasker
Other than ongoing speculation about what might happen when we get to March, it's a pretty quiet time of the year. However, yesterday represented the deadline for NFL teams to work out and negotiate with any Canadian Football League players whose contracts are about to expire.
To that end, the Jets have their eye on a receiver:

Tasker, who is 27 and 5'11", is regarded as one of the most reliable receivers in the CFL, mostly playing the "slot back" position, which would mean he'd fit into a system where he could play mostly in the slot or going in motion at the NFL level. He's averaged over 1,000 yards receiving over the past four years.
While his father made his name as a special teamer, Tasker has only served briefly as a return man in 2014. He also returned five punts for 37 yards and caught a 34-yard pass for the San Diego Chargers in preseason action as an undrafted rookie in 2013.
CFL contracts expire on February 13th, so if the Jets opt to sign Tasker - or any other CFL players they may have had in - they will have to wait until then. He reportedly has been offered a contract extension by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, who he played for in Canada.
