Breaking: Nathan Shepherd suspended for six games

After a disappointing preseason where Shepherd was arguably outplayed by Foley Fatukasi, it was surprising when the Jets opted to keep both on the 53-man roster. With both having been inactive in week one, perhaps the Jets were aware this was coming.

Shepherd will miss six games and the bye week then will become available in week nine as potential reinforcements if the Jets need depth on the defensive line. If not, they can cut him at that point.
