Breaking: Morris and Darkwa work out for Jets after McGuire suffers fractured foot
Bad start to camp for a player widely tipped as a breakout candidate:
#Jets RB Elijah McGuire, who figured to have a key role in the backfield, has suffered a fracture in his foot, source said. He’s going to require surgery and will miss an extended period. Depending on how long, he could be a candidate to return off Injured Reserve.

The Jets are already looking for a replacement:
Free agent RB Alfred Morris has just walked into the #Jets building for a visit, source said. With the #Cowboys last year, Morris averaged 4.8 yards per rush. A possible intriguing option.

Last year was a bounce-back for the 29-year old, who had three thousand-yard seasons in his first three years, but then saw his production fall over the next two years. In fact, until last year, his yards per carry average had reduced in every season after his rookie year.
UPDATE: Here's another candidate:
Free agent running back Orleans Darkwa is visiting with the Jets today, per source. He’s schedule to meet with the Colts next. Darkwa led the #Giants with 751 yards and a strong 4.4 ypc last season. Would be solid summer pickup.

The Jets showed interest in Darkwa earlier in the offseason and we wrote about that here.
We'll update you if the Jets make a move.
