Breaking: Jets trade TE Daniel Brown to KC for G Laurent Duvernay-Tardif
The Jets snuck in a late deal before the trade deadline:
Trade! The #Jets are sending tight end Dan Brown to the #Chiefs for guard Dr. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, per sources.

Brown barely contributed on offense with the Jets but did score one touchdown. Otherwise he was mostly a special teamer.
Some people are talking like Greg Van Roten's days as a starter are numbered but this move could be more along the lines of the Pat Elflein signing last year, where the 30-year old Duvernay-Tardif would give the team extra depth and then they'd have the inside track on signing him as a free agent next year. He should be a better option than Dan Feeney as the first guard off the bench.
Duvernay-Tardif has been a solid starter at right guard for the Chiefs with 57 career starts. He hasn't played since winning the Super Bowl at the end of the 2019 season, though. He opted out last year because he's a doctor and wanted to work in the fight against Covid-19 and only just got back after breaking his hand in training camp.
