Breaking: Jets to trade for OL Kelechi Osemele
The Jets are making a big move to upgrade their offensive line:
Raiders have an agreement in principle to trade G Kelechi Osemele to the NY Jets, sources tell @josinaanderson and me. Trade cannot be processed until Weds, but two sides have agreement in place. Another Raiders’ trade.

Osemele, who is still only 29, was the Raiders' starting left guard last year. He's also played some left tackle in the past. The former 2nd round pick is an experienced veteran who has started 93 games since being drafted in 2012, including 42 over the past three years in Oakland.
Osemele was a pro bowler in 2016 and 2017. Last year was the worst year of his career in terms of his PFF grade, although that was probably a by-product of the fact that he had to babysit a struggling rookie for most of it.
He is under contract for the next two seasons at an average of $11 million per year.
UPDATE: The Jets traded their fifth round pick (140) for Osemele and a sixth round pick (196).
