Breaking: Jets sign S Cisco
The Jets have closed out the day with another move:
The former third round pick Cisco is still only 24 and a good athlete with plenty of experience at the NFL level. However, he had some struggles last year that saw him temporarily benched. The hope here is that he can recapture his past form in a more stable environment.
Signing Brandon Stephens earlier leaves the Jets with three starting cornerbacks who haven't created many turnovers so far in their career so Cisco brings something important to the table in his ability to intercept passes, which he did three times in 2022 and four times in 2023.
One interesting aspect with the way the Jets' secondary is shaping up is that Cisco, Stephens, Deuce Carter and Sauce Gardner were all much better in 2023 than they were in 2024 and this is also true to a lesser extent for Tony Adams. Essentially this means the entire secondary will be looking to bounce back under Aaron Glenn, who of course was a top-level defensive back in his own right.
