Breaking: Jets sign QB Trevor Siemian
After Josh McCown's recent announcement that he can't commit to playing next season at this stage, the Jets needed a veteran back-up. They now have one, according to his agent:
Excited for QB @TrevorSiemian agreeing to a one year deal with the @nyjets

Siemian has a winning record as a starter and more touchdown passes than interceptions in his career, which is a pretty good résumé for a low-cost back-up.
He's also not Brock Osweiler, so he's got that going for himself too.
If all goes to plan, Siemian won't play this year, other than in preseason or mop-up duty, but it's good to know the Jets have someone with experience who can step in if necessary.
