Breaking: Jets sign OL Tom Compton

The Jets have added some veteran depth to their offensive line:

The 29-year old Compton started a career-high 14 games last year at left guard for the Minnesota Vikings. He gave up seven sacks and had six penalties but graded out as average according to Pro Football Focus.

He's started 29 games in his career, at at every position apart from center. The Jets will be Compton's fifth team in five years.
