Breaking: Jets select Blake Cashman with the 157th pick
With the pick they acquired by trading down a couple of times earlier, the Jets opted to bolster their special teams unit. Blake Cashman, a linebacker from Minnesota, has 38 special teams tackles over the past three seasons.
The 246-pound Cashman was a productive linebacker for the Golden Gophers and posted great numbers at the scouting combine. However, he has extremely short arms and small hands.
No doubt this will lead to further speculation that Darron Lee's days are numbered, but this is probably a player who will contribute on special teams and likely won't be involved much on defense unless there are injuries.
As things stand, the Jets have just one pick remaining; 196th overall in the sixth round. Stick around for more updates.
