Breaking: Jets draft Chuma Edoga with the 92nd pick
The Jets gave up their seventh-round pick to move up one spot to make their second third-round pick of the day.
With the pick, they selected USC tackle Chuma Edoga, who is 21 and listed at 6'3" and 308 pounds. Edoga has played both tackle positions and has been compared to Kelvin Beachum so could be an ideal candidate to develop to potentially take over from Beachum as the future starter.
He's probably a year away from contributing as he needs to work on his play strength and run blocking, but had a very impressive week at the senior bowl. As with Jachai Polite, he's a player who some teams had attitude concerns over, but hopefully he will respond well to being mentored by Beachum.
The Jets have two picks remaining, both of which are due to be made tomorrow, assuming there are no more trades. They have a pick early in the fourth round and then another in the sixth.
