Breaking: Avery Williamson lost for the season

Disastrous news for the Jets defense following an encouraging performance yesterday:

#Jets starting ILB Avery Williamson suffered a torn ACL, source said. He had his MRI today and is out for the season. Terrible preseason injury.

With Williamson gone, the main candidates to start or play a key role alongside CJ Mosley are Neville Hewitt, James Burgess and Blake Cashman, who is also currently injured.

Williamson is in the second year of a three-year contract.
